The DoD purchases nearly everything, and new weapon systems development offers opportunities for research and production, including small scale manufacturing of communication and transportation equipment and advanced sensor devices. Business services, including integrated services centers and data centers, are also a target within the defense/advanced security sector.
LIFE SCIENCES
The life sciences sector includes a wide range of manufacturing, research, and testing for both pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Niche areas of interest include diagnostic and orthopedic medical device manufacturing and medical supplies distribution.
FOOD PROCESSING
Winchester has a large existing food processing cluster. Nice markets targets to expand this existing cluster include perishable products and packaged foods.
ASSEMBLY
Light assembly facilities which are high‐value add are a target for Winchester. Medical supplies, automotive supplies, aerospace and defense, and laboratory equipment are all desirable.
