Rubbermaid Commercial Products Expands in Winchester & Frederick County
Rubbermaid Commercial Products, a leader in solution-based commercial products, will invest $67.25 million to expand operations in the City of Winchester and establish a distribution operation in Frederick County.
Melnor Reinvests in Frederick County
Melnor, Inc., one of the leading producers of lawn and garden watering products in North America, chose to maintain operations in Frederick County, VA, by constructing a new 128,000 square foot building on 11 acres located in the Stonewall Industrial Park. The economic development announcement creates nearly $6.5 million in taxable capital investment and retains/creates 43 jobs.
NW WORKS Expansion & Grand Opening
NW Works, which has 150 clients, provides paid and unpaid vocational training and job opportunities for physically and mentally disabled adults. On Jan. 3, it moved into its new 58,660-squarefoot location in the former Melnor building at 3085 Shawnee Drive.
FBI Records Facility Slated for Winchester
An FBI records facility that would employ 1,200 people is still in the works, with the expectation that it will be built in Frederick County. The 974,000-square-foot facility would provide records storage and office space for the secure handling and management of FBI’s records inventory.
O’Sullivan Expands in Winchester
A $28.3 million expansion of the existing O’Sullivan Films plant in Winchester will create 174 jobs. O’Sullivan Films, which produces polymer and finishing films for the building products, consumer, health-care, and automotive markets, will expand building 40 on its south boundary, allowing the company to utilize larger equipment in its manufacturing processes.
Yount, Hyde & Barbour Expands in Winchester
YHB, a local accounting firm, will increase its downtown presence through the $1.1 million purchase of another downtown building. YHB will maintain its current headquarters building in addition to the new facility.
Kraft Announces $40 Million Expansion
Kraft Foods Global, Inc. will invest $40 million to increase production of its Capri Sun beverage product at its facility in Frederick County. The project will create 100 new jobs.
Executive Protection Systems Expands in New Location
EPS, an emergency preparedness firm, expanded into a new 17,000 square foot facility to accommodate its growth. The new facility houses their corporate headquarters, onsite training center, safety merchandise store, and warehouse operations.
Annandale Millwork Announces Winchester Expansion
Annandale Millwork/Allied Systems, which manufactures pre-hung doors and windows, wall panels, floor systems and roof trusses announced the investment of $7.5 million and addition of 20 jobs in development of a lumber reload and manufacturing facility. The expansion will include a 2,700-foot rail spur and the construction of a 50,000-square-foot facility for the manufacturing of I-joists and wall panels.
